Program theme
[Water Spin the Thread of Life]
This is an artist-in-residence that has the theme to express life in Shinano Omachi.
People here live with rich nature,especially abundant water from mountains.
Life is like “spinning thread out of water.”
(We want you to express people’s life with nature.)
We aim to the creation of new artwork respecting local culture and tradition.
Put your hands in nature and be as one.
Venue: Shinano-Omachi AIR
Residence period: from 23rd Augaust to 14th October
Number of artists: 4
Open call period: From 29th May to 30th June 2023. *Extended one week.
Our grants includes:
Travel costs (up to 150,000 yen) in exchange with receipts and boarding passes
Daily allowance (2,200 yen)
Material Fees (up to 200,000 yen in total) in exchange with receipts
Cultural exchange workshop (up to 40,000 Yen) in exchange with receipts
Studios:
・Accommodation studio; one room per person (open 24-hours).
