Inspired by “Machinaka Library ” which lends books brought by citizens at various places in the shopping districts of the city, Jimmy’s Bookstore was opened at the joint workshop, “Ganbariya-san” in Omachi Meitengai(shopping district) at the first festival in 2017. The artists made approximately sixty different kinds of book covers, blindfolded more than 1600 used books, and created new encounters with books. This time, he will improve the shop space and books in order to create a more comfortable reading space and will also create a mobile sales car that offers goods and refreshments. Moreover, two sculptures of children enjoying reading will be installed in the square of Shinano Omachi Station, welcoming and inviting the visitors to the world of stories and the mountainous town with abundant nature.
