ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS! Electromagnetic Forest Theater

“Electronicos Fantasticos!” is a project led by an artist/musician Wada Ei with almost seventy members to gradually form an orchestra by repurposing old appliances into new electromagnetic instruments. For this festival, they will transform electrical appliances which have blown wind inside the rooms such as electric fans, tower fans and, air-conditioners into music instruments. They will deliver a performance that brings people and technology to have a dialogue with nature as these repurposed music instruments encounter wind in the forest.
Wada Ei＋Nicos Orchest-Lab（Japan）
Born in 1987 and lives in Tokyo. Established a music group called “Open Reel Ensemble” in 2009 which plays antique open reel tape recorders as music instruments. Since 2015, he has been working on “Electronicos Fantasticos!”, a project to gradually form an orchestra as transforming old electric appliances into music instruments.
