WORK
Memory of Life
Samon Aoshima(Japan)
For the first iteration of the festival the artist created an artwork with fresh flowers illuminated by LEDs under the night sky of the plateau in order to express the real darkness of the night sky of Omachi and beauty of its stars. For this festival, he transforms the indoor gate ball field into a jet black world and creates a world of galaxies. As you walk through, you will begin to see the countless number of light particles of optical fibers, bringing the natural light into the space as the only connection to the outside. Each of the light blinks and the brightness of the entire light changes as it breathes slowly in accordance with changing weather. The movement of the atmosphere, and breathing of the earth would gently remind you in the complete black space of the fact that you yourself are also a living creature and make you feel the peaceful time of the galaxy.

Pursuing the question of “What is Life?” based on the reality of “Existence”. In this project, LEDs are used to illuminate floral arrangements, developing works that organically transform the color of light.
