OMOIDE Drive-In

Shinji Asai(Japan)

End

The drive-in quietly standing beside the lake was once a souvenir shop and restaurant which was crowded with tourists who came to spend summer at Lake Kisaki. Yachts in different colours were floating on Lake Kisaki and catching the wind. There were souvenirs, a signboard, karaoke and, a large sculpture of polar bear left inside. The artist’s “drive” of drawing a painting on the stage of “memories” that sleeps in this place triggers the movement of the space that has been suspended for a long time to an unexplored direction.
