Akinorium in OMACHI
Akinori Matsumoto(Japan)
A sound installation through which Matsumoto expresses unspoiled landscapes such as cedar forests in snow or water dripping into a pond. Shinano-Omachi is famous for local sake made of high-quality rice and underground water from the Northern Alps. The Sake Museum, which once displayed large barrels, tools used for producing sake, and different sake from all over Japan, reopens to present a new artwork for the festival. A wave pattern created by water droplets falling on a pond is illuminated, and within, a landscape evoking snow melting in the Northern Alps emerges.
