WORK
Wind Direction Undefinable
Yukihisa Isobe(Japan)
The artist has worked as a pioneer in environmental planning since the 1970s. In recent years, he has presented works that reveal changes in the natural environment and its relation to regional societies. He has focused on the influence of environmental change on the distinctive environmental resources of this region such as wind, mist, underground water, and rivers and decided to create an artwork about changes in the Nanakura Dam and its surrounding environment. By visualising data of the flows of wind actually measured and collected based on the ecological planning method, the 150m x 300m life-size artwork provides an opportunity for visitors to experience the phenomenon of various changes in nature including water and wind over a long period of time.
