Beauty and Harmony of Nature

A painting exhibition featuring a Mayan artist in Guatemala. Her work is a rich reflection of her world view and she paints experiences and dreams based upon her identity and culture. While respecting the tradition of Mayan culture, her work with unique line drawings is distinctively different from traditional paintings and seems to interact with nature through music, movements, languages, and colours. The artist, who says “nature is like a mother,” will draw a mural depicting the landscape she felt when she visited Shinano Omachi – water dancing with the blowing wind, the breezes, and snows softly touching the Northern Alps, the dew embracing flowers and fields, and animals blessing life. She will present the mural with paintings drawn in Guatemala.
