Tadashi Kawamata（Japan / France）
Since the 1980s, Kawamata has explored the concept of “work in progress”, which interrogates the process of art itself, and he has developed this project in parallel with the construction of the Northern Alps Eco Park general waste treatment plant. During the production period, students from in and out of the country gather to participate in the Northern Alps Forest Art School, where they are given lectures by specialists of the area and learn about the relationships between forests and civilizations in a stay-and-learn program.
Tadashi Kawamata（Japan / France）
Born in 1953 in Hokkaido, and lives and works in Paris. After participating in the 1982 Venice Biennale, he gained a strong reputation through international art exhibitions such as Documenta and Sculpture Projects Münster. His projects are related to architecture and urban planning, history, and even extend into the field of medical care.
