WORK
Whistling Mountains
Ekaterina Muromtseva(Russia / USA)
A project inspired by folktales of Japan and the view of Omachi. Folktales Muromtseva created based on legends and stories she encountered in Japan were developed into a theater play, with dolls and shadows breathing life into it as a film piece, which is screened in Sasaki Iku Jinja shrine. Also, in a vacant house with water flowing underneath the floor, she expresses the mountains and lakes of the Omachi area. Tradition and the contemporary, narrative and scenery are merged, a multifaceted expression of the charms of Omachi.
