WORK

The Wave of Bamboo

Yu Wenfu(Taiwan)

Using Yasaka Civil Hall as a stage, this project expresses harmony between bamboo, wind, and local people. Using bamboo as the skeleton, additional bamboo that Yu brought to Japan surrounds the entire building of the Civil Hall. By weaving this bamboo, which grows in a struggle against gravity, with wind that passes through vertically as humidity changes, it becomes a work of wind, creating unique wave lines that communicate the charm of rural life.
