This work is a footbath that uses the fermenting heat of fallen leaves, created by an artist who says, “living is continuing to produce heat.” Visitors warm their feet through heat produced by the microbes existing on the leaves, while enjoying the view of Omachi from the front window. It becomes a place for reflection on yourself and the microbes, the various factors that contribute to our activities, and their correlations.

Basing his work in Omachi, Tokyo, and Chiba, Murakami conducts projects such as Billboard House, where an advertisement fee sustains his life dwelling in a sign board. In recent years he has been developing Murakami Study Room in Sammu, Chiba.
