WORK

Heart Sound of the Mountain

Scripcariu-Ochiai Ana(Japan)

An installation work developed in a shed used by local hunters for cleaning their catches. Through many conversations with these hunters and those who know the mountains well, and her own fieldwork, Scripcariu-Ochiai developed the space using photographs and sound. The shed, filled with images that resemble fragments of a mountain, invites viewers deeper into the forest.

Scripcariu-Ochiai Ana(Japan)

Born in 1992. Triggered by an exploration of ways of putting down roots in her two mother-countries, Japan and Romania, she works with the theme of “connections between the land and people.” She has built research productions with an anthropological approach in and out of Japan, weaving “moments that things touch and extend to each other, transcending time, distance, land, and ethnic groups.”
