WORK
Black Trace
Seo Minjeong(South Korea)
An installation work that evokes a tree falling on snowy ground is placed in an indoor gateball ground, bathed in bright sunlight. A huge carbonized tree lies on white blocks with the remains of polystyrene melted in the heat of the fire, displaying a contrast of familiar natural scenery and artificial materials that never degrade. It also symbolizes the fear of global warming and forest fires, expressing the losses of natural disasters and their psychological impacts. It is a piece that questions relationships between nature and humanity.
