サプド・カカー Sapud Kacaw 台湾

サプド・カカーは花蓮県港口部落生まれのアミ族の原住民アーティストです。彼は軍で奉仕した後、彼の村に戻り、村の芸術家であるラ・ヘイジから流木彫刻を学びました。彼は言います。「創造することは、自分自身とコミュニティを認識するための最良の方法です」。彼の作品は建築的で、流木、岩、籐などの媒体を使い、海の近くの生活で見られる波に強く結び付けられた芸術的な語彙を表現しています。

2014年 第二回Pulima藝術賞 評審員賞受賞。

Sapud Kacaw (Taiwan)

Sapud Kacaw was born in the Gankou community, Hualien, and he is an Ami tribe artist, and after serving in the military returned to his community. He learned drift wood sculpture from La Heizi, an artist in his community. He says: “Creating is the best way to recognize one’s self and community.” His work is architectural and uses mediums such as drift wood, rocks, and rattan, expressing artistic vocabulary strongly tied to waves seen in life near the ocean.
