14 Tatsu

“Tatsu” draws from the local legend “The Dragon and Izumi Kotaro,” which describes how the Azumino area was created when a dragon and her son smashed through the rocks of a huge lake and drained it into the ocean. Tuttofuoco, feeling that the way the dragon helped the people in the legend resembled the way the art festival helps revitalize the region, directs his focus on the eye of the dragon, a symbol of the water god, and visualizes a new dragon in the present day. The legend of the dragon’s lake, brought back to life in the Omachi Dam, brings new energy and life to the region as well as harmony and good fortune for the future.
